Jack Lowden

Jack Lowden received his first Golden Globe nomination, as TV supporting actor for Apple TV+’s Slow Horses.

Alongside his work as an actor, Lowden co-produced The Outrun, which stars Saoirse Ronan, Paapa Essiedu and Stephen Dillane. Following that, he formed his production company, Sad Dog, with Ronan.

Lowden led the BBC and Paramount+ drama series The Gold, directed by Aneil Karia. In 2022, he was seen as the decorated WWI poet Siegfried Sassoon in writer-director Terence Davies’ biopic Benediction.

He produced Kindred and starred in the film; acted in Steve McQueen’s BBC One/Amazon drama Small Axe; Josh Trank’s Capone; the comedy-drama Fighting With My Family, directed by Stephen Merchant; the BBC adaptation of Andre Levy’s novel The Long Song; and Mary Queen Of Scots, directed by Josie Rourke, and starring Ronan and Margot Robbie.

Lowden appeared in Christopher Nolan’s epic World War II action-adventure Dunkirk; the Morrissey biopic England Is Mine; Tommy’s Honour; Andrew Davies’ six-episode adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s War & Peace; and BBC’s multipart The Passing Bells.

Onstage roles include starring with Hayley Atwell in Measure For Measure at the Donmar Warehouse; Electra at The Old Vic, starring Kristin Scott Thomas; The National Theatre of Scotland’s production of Black Watch; and played Eric Liddell in a stage adaptation of the film Chariots of Fire.

He will next star in the John Maclean thriller Tornado, and in Ella McCay,  from filmmaker James L. Brooks.
